Nox Raynicka Malzahn

The Mad Queen of Duality

Nox Raynicka Malzahn is an author, composer, producer, graphic designer, and unpaid intern for a group of narcissistic cartoons called Mad Queen. She is the 3rd-dimensional organic vessel for Mad Queen’s toxic diva frontman, Nox Radha Malzahn (no relation), and she regularly engages in arts and craft activities.

Hailing from the deserts of Oregon where she has spent the majority of 25 years in her room, Malzahn has been creating things no one’s asked for since Guitar Hero was still relevant. She specializes in writing desolate sci-fi stories packaged in disorienting colors and derivative philosophical jokes. Malzahn boasts proficiency (seriously she doesn’t shut up) in multiple musical instruments, most notably guitar and synthesizer, and has arranged and produced dozens of tracks unrestricted by genre and gender.

Malzahn is a non-binary transgender woman (she/they) and proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community, as well as a human rights activist seeking societal change through the use of aggressive sound, uncomfortable symbolism, and untethered human emotion.

She currently resides in Portland, Oregon where she spends all of her time (literally all of it) crafting the sonic storm wall of Mad Queen, and working with other artists to bring their visions to life in grotesquely vibrant fashion. If you’re interested in working with Nox Malzahn or Mad Queen on an audio or visual project, absolutely reach out to us and we’ll let her out of the cage for a few minutes to answer emails!

In the meantime, you can make her sad-girl tears and perpetual existentialism worth it by checking out A Cat Named Chess and supporting the official release coming early 2022!
